Position Overview:

The Business & Consumer Banking Specialist is responsible for driving deposit growth across consumer and small business segments by building, retaining, and deepening customer relationships. Through proactive outreach and consultative, needs-based conversations, this role identifies opportunities to expand relationships, recommend tailored products and services, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. The Business & Consumer Banking Specialist ensures accurate and efficient transaction processing while opening and maintaining accounts, anticipating customer needs, and supporting the Bank's growth objectives.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Contributes towards fostering a teamwork environment
  • Provides superior customer experience which includes listening to sales opportunities and the ability to explain and promote bank products and services to customers and prospects in person and over the phone.
  • Drive deposit growth and production by acquiring new consumer and business accounts while expanding total portfolio balances.
  • Build and deepen client relationships by improving account funding, retention, and average balances, while enhancing overall customer engagement.
  • Generate revenue through cross-selling, business development partnerships, and referral pipelines (including mortgage partnerships) to grow deposits and expand customer relationships.
  • Educate Mortgage Loan Officers on bank products, services, be their banking partner in assigned area.
  • Support and provide outreach to mortgage customers on bank products and services
  • Open consumer and business accounts for new and existing customers and prepare new account paperwork within bank and regulatory guidelines in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Handle customer account maintenance and fraud claims efficiently
  • Provide information to customers regarding promotions, contests and new account options
  • Answer questions and solve customer problems regarding checking, savings, and other bank products and services.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of one year of retail banking experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office programs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal communication skills


Education:

  • High school degree or equivalent
