Job description

Lull/Forklift Operator

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is seeking skilled Lull/Forklift Operators to join our construction team.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a lull and forklift to safely and efficiently transport materials, components, and finished products within construction.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, racks, or shelves, ensuring proper placement and securing of loads to prevent damage or accidents.
  • Follow safety procedures and regulations at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and conducting pre-operational checks on the lull/forklift.
  • Inspect lull/forklift and related equipment for any defects or malfunctions before each use and report any issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate activities, communicate any issues or concerns, and ensure timely delivery of materials to designated areas.
  • Participate in training programs to improve skills and knowledge related to lull/forklift operation, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support the overall goals and objectives of the company.

Education Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required
  • Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating forklifts with a 10,000lb+ lifting capacity, specifically for long and heavy steel products.
  • Valid forklift operator certification or license.
  • Proven experience as a forklift driver in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of forklift operation and safety procedures.
  • Ability to operate a lull/forklift safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in load handling and placement.

Job Requirements/Special Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time
