What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Yard Tractor Driver position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Yard Tractor Driver, you need a solid understanding of tractor operation, load handling, and basic mechanical knowledge, often with a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with yard management systems, two-way radios, and adherence to OSHA safety regulations or certification is commonly required. For a Yard Tractor Driver, entry-level companies that offer training programs and have a high turnover rate tend to have easier hiring processes. Working as part of a dynamic logistics team means you'll need to be adaptable and collaborative, helping to keep operations running smoothly and on schedule.
