What is an LTSA?

LTSA stands for Land Title and Survey Authority. It is an independent, publicly accountable organization responsible for managing land title and survey systems in British Columbia, Canada. The LTSA maintains accurate and secure records of land ownership and boundaries, provides services related to property registrations, and ensures the integrity of land titles. Their work is crucial for real estate transactions, property development, and protecting property rights.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Land Title Surveyor Assistant (LTSA), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Land Title Surveyor Assistant, you need a solid understanding of land surveying principles, legal property descriptions, and relevant technical training or certification. Familiarity with surveying instruments, CAD software, GPS equipment, and land records management systems is typically required. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication help you excel in data collection and client interactions. These competencies ensure accurate survey results, legal compliance, and efficient project delivery in the land surveying field.

How does an LTSA collaborate with other professionals in a legal or real estate office setting?

As a Land Title and Survey Authority (LTSA) professional, you will frequently collaborate with lawyers, notaries, surveyors, and government officials to process and verify property transactions. Communication is key, as you'll need to clarify documentation requirements, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This collaborative environment helps streamline workflows and ensures the accuracy of land title records, making teamwork and attention to detail essential in this role.

  • Coordinate software updates and configuration changes with internal software teams and customers
  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance plans to enhance asset longevity and reliability.
  • Manage and monitor spare parts inventory, coordinating with supply chain teams to ensure timely procurement and availability
  • Lean/Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, standard work, RCCA) to streamline maintenance workflows, eliminate waste, and enhance overall asset performance and customer satisfaction

2. Asset Performance Optimization:

  • Build strong customer relationships through transparency, dependability, and responsiveness
  • Coordinate outages, maintenance, and site access with customers and field teams to minimize disruptions
  • Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, supply chain, and field service teams to manage warranty claims, align on issue resolution, and recover costs, while driving improvements in asset reliability and customer support

4. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed asset management records, including maintenance activities, key performance indicators (KPIs), and system health reports
  • Leverage CMMS and Salesforce to track site issues, monitor progress, and provide regular updates to customers
  • Monitor and manage maintenance-related costs, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings
  • Support internal and customer-facing performance reviews by providing data-driven insights

Position Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of BESS technology, energy storage systems, and grid operations
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce or other CMMS software for issue tracking and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with customers, field teams, and internal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret system data and drive performance improvements
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority issues concurrently and deliver results under pressure
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
