ABOUT FIREFLY AEROSPACE

This position is located at our manufacturing and test facility in Briggs, TX north of Austin, TX.

SUMMARY

Vehicle Integration Technicians are responsible for the efficient and successful assembly of the Alpha Launch vehicle. This requires the ability to intuitively understand the intention behind design decisions and execute assembly based on those intentions. A strong background in in production or maintenance of complex mechanical systems such as in aviation or automotive industries is required. The role also includes travel to the launch site in order to supported integrated vehicle and launch pad operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow complex assembly procedures and work instructions
  • Execute integration processes
  • Safely operate high pressure pneumatic, cryogenic, and fuel systems
  • Stage, set up, assemble, test, and install flight hardware
  • Utilize necessary tooling and fixturing
  • Follow complex planning instructions for assembly and integration for the assembly of all vehicle subsystems.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers and teammates.
  • Identify discrepancies between design and manufacture/assembly and resolve them
  • Support engineering in defining manufacturability, producibility, and assembly of design using industry standard parts and products

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 3+ years experience with complex assemblies, e.g. production in aviation/automotive, Oil Rig maintenance/assembly
  • Proficient use of Pneumatic tools, hand tools, Power tools, and Precision measurement instruments
  • Proven experience with complex assemblies, e.g. production in aviation/automotive, Oil Rig maintenance/assembly.
  • Proven experience with complex troubleshooting
  • Comfortable working within an evolving process
  • Flexibility regarding workflow and process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey methodologies for assembly and troubleshooting
  • General knowledge of basic hand tools and their use
  • Willing to travel up to 40%

Desired

  • A&P License is preferred
  • Relevant Military experience in fixed or rotor wing maintenance is highly desired
  • Two or more years of experience in one or more of the following fields.
    • Rocket engines, turbomachinery, or complex component assembly
    • Troubleshooting/Repairing/Testing of pneumatic and/or cryogenic valves, fluid systems, actuators, or components.
    • Civilian/Military aircraft engine experience
