The Department of English seeks full-time Instructors to join the University Writing Program this fall. We are looking for faculty to teach writing and introductory general education courses. Some preference will be given to those interested in the areas of rhetoric, digital composition, and professional, technical, scientific, and/or legal writing. Instructors teach a 4/4 load and serve on a committee dedicated to developing the University Writing Program. Instructors hired in this search will initially have a one-year renewable contract. Non-tenure-track faculty members are not eligible for tenure, but can reach the rank of Senior Instructor. We have a growing and exciting program that reflects a long-standing and committed community of writing faculty here at LSU in Baton Rouge.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree in English or related field;

Experience: Evidence of outstanding teaching in first-year composition.

Additional Qualifications Desired: Ph.D. in English or related field.

Experience: Coursework in composition pedagogy; experience teaching writing, rhetoric, literature, and/or linguistics at a college or university.
