Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
The Licensed Practical Nurse will coordinate the care of assigned residents by following medical, nursing and other policies, procedures and protocols. The Licensed Practical Nurse must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment and have the ability to respond quickly to resident needs. A successful candidate will have experience in long term care and a compassionate approach when working with residents who require extensive care.
Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of basic nursing techniques and tasks which are individually prescribed for each patient.
Provide basic care for patients.
Monitor and document patient's physical, emotional and psychosocial conditions.
Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing and dressing.
Manage resident's progress through rehabilitation program.
Assist doctors and therapists in providing treatment to patients.
Administer nursing care in a nursing home environment under the supervision of a registered nurse or other medical supervisor.
Provide basic medical care, including changing bandages, administering prescribed medication, and collecting specimens.
Ensure the health, comfort and safety of patients by assisting with bathing, feeding, and dressing.
Monitor and report changes in patients condition to supervisor.
Document patient interactions as needed.
Typically report to a registered nurse or supervisor.
Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma and graduation from approved LPN educational program.
Requires applicable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license.
Minimum 3 months experience in post-acute care or in-patient hospital setting.
Pass a state-required background check.
