Lounge Server

POSITION SUMMARY

The Lounge Server helps create a joyful and vibrant community by providing prompt and excellent service to residents & guests when preparing/serving food & drinks in the lounge and by overseeing & performing operations for the Sky Lounge including organization and cleanliness for the entire lounge area, and promoting a positive & professional image to residents, families, and guests.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provides a great experience for all residents and guests in the Lounge.
  • Ensure that all food & beverage venues in the lounge are clean and well maintained for all aspects of service; including tables and chairs that are set in a uniform and consistent manner.
  • Ensure that all residents and guests are greeted promptly as they enter the Lounge area.
  • This position will provide excellent and timely customer service to all residents and guests.
  • Pre-open review is conducted prior Lounge open includes but not limited to:
    • The daily menu and specials.
    • Personal presentation is in accordance with Fieldstone standards for uniforms and grooming.
    • Inventory stock ready
    • Residents special needs and concerns.
    • Daily Service Training Points.
  • Prepares food items and serves food to residents within scheduled timeframe.
  • Follows menu cycle, noting changes or substitutions made on proper form.
  • Cleans and maintains a neat, safe working environment including the kitchen and food service areas.
  • Complies with state sanitation codes.
  • Maintains inventory control, places food/supply orders with kitchen, verifies that items are received appropriately and restocks Lounge supply shelves/closet.
  • Reports problems, concerns, issues observed with food or beverage service and communicates them appropriately.
  • Observes changes in resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates with appropriate team members.
  • Records resident information as required.
  • Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
  • Adheres to procedures for fire, life, safety, disaster, security, worker safety and other emergency procedures.
  • Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independent, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents.
  • Maintains the quality of food prepared and samples the food to ensure the quality of the food served to the residents.
  • Performs other tasks/duties as assigned.
  • Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings. Stays Current on all system assigned tasks and duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in dining room/lounge service and food prep preferred.
  • Prefer prior experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Requires attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
  • Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime to meet the requirements of the position
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other community staff.
  • Ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and employee management.
  • Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. 
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check
  • Meets all mandatory health requirements by state regulations
  • Ability to work independently (with minimum supervision)
  • Maintains current Food Handlers card
