POSITION SUMMARY
As a part of the Peanuts Worldwide Royalty Team, you will be supporting the Manager, Cash Application & Royalty Management by managing the royalty reporting processes. You will work closely with Legal, FP&A and Corporate Finance/Accounting peers in addition to external auditors, international agents, and licensees.
This position will be on a Hybrid schedule with 2 days per week in the NYC office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze and validate all incoming royalty statements ensuring licensee compliance with contractual terms

  • Post royalty actuals and their related invoices and journal entries, maintaining accurate accounting of royalties reported

  • Collaborate with contract analysts, commercial, and legal teams to ensure proper interpretation of contractual financial terms

  • Communicate with licensees and commercial team to address any discovered unauthorized sales activity

  • Identify and propose resolutions for data conflicts contained within royalty statements received

  • Serve as main royalty contact for licensees, meeting and communicating with partners for account reconciliations or queries relating to rights granted

  • Work closely with FP&A team on any reporting or revenue inquiries relating to licensee forecasts, estimates, etc.

  • Review cash received and agency collection statements to address any outstanding reporting and royalty record discrepancies

  • Ensure compliance with all corporate financial and internal control policies, including the Sarbanes - Oxley Act

  • Support the sales and finance teams with reporting and analytics as needed for account reviews and proposed new deals

  • Honesty, trustworthiness and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Your qualifications and experience should include:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or closely related field

  • 2+ years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance or related roles

  • Royalty Accounting and Licensing industry experience strongly preferred, with special focus on royalty participations and contract compliance

  • Experience with WestEnd or other rights management software preferred

  • Advanced MS Excel (knowledge of pivot tables, lookup functions, etc.)

  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Flexible work style: able to adjust to multiple demands and a changing and fast-paced environment

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without restriction

The target annualized base salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000. In addition to the annual base salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
