Job description

Amentum has an opening for a Fleet Manager at our Springfield, VA location.

The Fleet Manager will report to the Program Logistics Manager and will perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of commercially and GSA leased vehicles in support of the contract.
  • The Manager coordinates the availability of GSA and Commercially Leased vehicles.
  • Track vehicle accidents, repairs, inspections, security, maintenance, and replacements; maintain and update SOPs as required utilizing PWS and submit monthly deliverables by a prescribed timeline to include, but not limited to accident, mileage, fuel, maintenance and cleaning reports.
  • Perform area safety checks, timecard approval, audit GSA billing statements, and EZ Pass account; be involved in hiring and termination procedures, interviewing and employee dispute resolution / disciplinary actions while working with the HR department.
  • Oversee the duties and responsibilities of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic Helper, Taxi Service (Executive level) drivers and Shuttle Bus Drivers.
  • Ability to make presentations regarding functional area; work with the client and/or quality control to complete an audit, to include the ability to answer all questions and verify operating procedures.
  • Monitor local road/traffic conditions making route changes as needed to maximize efficiency.
  • Assist in enforcing all facility safety and site security regulations.
  • Knowledge of Commercial Motor Vehicle Regulations compliance regarding vehicles, employees and reporting requirements.
  • Will perform other duties and assignments as required by the program or the client.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of job experience or 10 years work experience with fleet motor pools.
  • Experience with GSA motor pool operations.
  • Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Ability to write clear, concise reports.
  • Respond quickly to task requests.
  • Microsoft Office and database skills.
  • Possess a valid State Driver's License and possess a clean driving record (MVR).
  • Top Secret Clearance required at time of application.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Salary Range $90,000 - $110,000
