What you will do-
Based at Aspen's 3 Dexter Rd. location in East Providence, RI, the Logistics Specialist is responsible for receiving raw materials from suppliers, 3PLs, and offsite warehouses, while ensuring accurate system transactions within Dynamics ERP. This role supports manufacturing operations by managing material flow to Production and Finishing, maintaining organized warehouse conditions, and actively monitoring inventory on the floor to ensure accurate consumption and inventory integrity. This role plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
How will you do it-
  • Collaborate with Logistics and Chemical operators to learn and master all aspects of warehouse and raw material logistics operations.
  • Unload, put away, label, and receive materials delivered to 1-Dexter Warehouse.
  • Escalate paperwork and PO issues to supply chain team for timely resolution and accurate record keeping.
  • Perform daily cycle counts of 1-Dexter and Production Manufacturing Floor inventory and escalate issues to your supervisor or lead for early problem detection.
  • Deliver and transact requested materials to manufacturing production lines.
    • Follow FIFO (first in first out) inventory rotation.
    • Track and monitor expiration dates.
  • Maintain minimum inventory storage levels on production lines:
    • Confirm counts, rewrap, and return excess materials from production lines to warehouse.
  • Deliver material to Finishing. Including but not limited to cores, end caps, and dunnages.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards to ensure a safe, organized, and show case ready warehouse.
  • Material to be stored in an organized manner for ease of access, identification, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Support inventory staff by participating in quarterly cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts.
  • Communicate effectively with the Material Manager, Manufacturing Supervisor, and Supply Chain Team to communicate any potential issues.
  • Secure building at end of shift, turn off lights, and lock up.
  • Promote teamwork and advocate for a safe working environment.
    • Support Chemical Handlers with day-to-day activities as needed.
    • Crosstrain with the Logistics Specialist and serve as backup during absences or peak workload periods.
  • Available to work overtime as needed.

  • Minimum 1 year of commercial forklift experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbal & Written communications)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. when required
