Inside Sales / Customer Service Representative
Location: Addison, IL
Compensation: $24-$26/hour

An established international logistics and freight forwarding company providing transportation, customs, warehousing, and distribution services to customers across domestic and global markets.
Position Summary
The Inside Sales / Customer Service Representative supports sales activities and manages customer service and shipment coordination within an assigned territory. This role works closely with customers, vendors, internal teams, and overseas offices to provide quotations, maintain accounts, coordinate international freight operations, and resolve service issues.
International freight forwarding experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily sales activities and assist with new account onboarding, existing account maintenance, and SOP updates.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Respond to customer inquiries by phone and email and prepare quotations and rate information.
  • Participate in sales meetings and occasionally visit customer locations.
  • Coordinate freight forwarding activities including bookings, documentation, compliance, customs clearance, brokerage, delivery, and warehousing.
  • Monitor shipment status and coordinate with customers, vendors, internal teams, branches, and overseas agents.
  • Investigate and resolve shipment and customer service issues.
  • Support invoicing for international and distribution accounts.
  • Coordinate with Accounting regarding receivables and outstanding balances.
  • Review account creditworthiness and assist with establishing credit terms according to company policy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.
  • Complete assigned projects and maintain effective communication across departments.
Qualifications
Required:
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • International freight forwarding experience.
  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows.
  • Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
Preferred:
  • Experience supporting international logistics sales, freight operations, or customer accounts.
Other Details
  • Primarily office-based work environment.
  • Travel by car and air may be required.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods and occasionally stand, walk, and lift or move up to 50 lbs.
