Job Summary

The Director, Logistics provides strategic leadership for supply chain, inventory management, warehouse operations, and material planning. This role oversees logistics operations, develops supply chain strategies, manages inventory levels, leads warehouse and planning teams, ensures operational efficiency, and drives continuous improvement across procurement and logistics functions.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement supply chain and logistics strategies.
  • Oversee inventory planning, material management, and warehouse operations.
  • Ensure adequate inventory levels to support maintenance and operational requirements.
  • Monitor inventory transactions and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Manage warehouse operations and satellite storage facilities.
  • Lead inventory planning and material management teams.
  • Optimize inventory levels while minimizing stock shortages and excess inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with document control policies and enterprise systems.
  • Champion the implementation and use of logistics and inventory management systems.
  • Lead employee training, professional development, and succession planning.
  • Supervise managers, supervisors, planners, and warehouse personnel.
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate team performance.
  • Collaborate with procurement leadership to improve logistics operations.
  • Develop strategic solutions to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Build relationships with internal departments to support supply chain needs.
  • Monitor KPIs, inventory performance, and operational metrics.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Engineering, Economics, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 15 years of logistics, supply chain, procurement, or material management experience.
  • Master's degree or professional certification preferred.
  • Experience managing supply chain and procurement professionals.
  • Government sector experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory planning, warehousing, procurement, and distribution.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP, Microsoft Office, inventory systems, and procurement software.
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and people management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of KPIs, inventory optimization, and continuous process improvement.
