Job Tittle: Operations Manager

Pay: Starting at $70K-$75K DOE- Exempt

Shift: Monday-Friday, and on weekends as needed, 8am-5pm (Onsite)

Role Description:

This is a full-time on-site role located at the NJ Branch. We are seeking an Operations Manager at Avalon Transportation LLC. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all aspects of transportation operations to ensure the highest level of customer service and safety.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Manage the NJ/NYC operations to meet the goals and objectives of Avalon Transportation through the following:

Oversee that the office is properly staffed and scheduled.

Ensure we are adequately staffed to cover all current and future reservations and events.

Handle any staffing questions, problems, issues and concerns.

Write evaluations and disciplinary notices of staff.

Assure that office is kept clean and always organized.

Handle customer complaints immediately and efficiently.

Prepare and coordinate all necessary departments for all unusually busy days to prepare for efficiency, including vehicles and staffing.

Review and correct, with employee notification, office staff timesheets and other staffing paperwork to ensure proper completion as per company policies and procedures.

Responsible for providing support for HR and payroll processing for corporations. Interface with Payroll Coordinator. Submit approved time sheets on Tuesday noon, PST to payroll coordinator. Distribute paychecks @ 2p.m. on paydays. Review of complaints about payroll errors. Assist in any short projects required by HR. Completes the new hire process and works closely with HR.

Provides after hours & weekend support by resolving operations issues.

Perform other tasks and duties as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

At least 5 years of experience in Charter Bus and/or logistics operations management

Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team of department heads, dispatchers, fleet, chauffeurs, and other personnel

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Experience developing, implementing, and improving procedures and processes to increase efficiency and safety

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Experience managing ground transportation for events in the local service area

Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and decision-making

Focus and desire to deliver high end service with exceptional customer service skills to do so

Familiarity with local Department of Transportation regulations and compliance requirements

Experience with Microsoft programs including Windows, Office, & Google docs
