Job Summary

Wine.com is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Wine.com. This role is integral to the success of our Maplewood, NJ fulfillment center. The Operations Manager will work closely with the General Manager to ensure the seamless execution of our daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual operational plans.

Key responsibilities include maintaining strict adherence to established policies and procedures, managing staffing requirements, and overseeing all logistic center functions. These functions encompass purchasing, receiving, inventory management, order picking, packing, shipping, and other essential operations. The ideal candidate will be committed to driving efficiency and excellence in our logistic center's performance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure inventory accuracy by closely monitoring daily warehouse activities, conducting cycle counts, and overseeing deliveries.

• Lead and oversee the fulfillment floor, providing guidance and leadership to Operations Managers, Leads, and Associates. Identify and implement training and development opportunities to enhance team performance.

• Execute company processes with precision to ensure 100% compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and achieve or exceed annual performance goals.

• Actively participate in the recruitment, training, and daily management of the logistics center staff, ensuring optimal staffing levels are maintained.

• Provide leadership by setting clear expectations and upholding high standards of work practices and productivity.

• Identify, address, and minimize common shipping issues to maintain smooth operations.

• Utilize reports to actively monitor the order fulfillment process, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and shipping of all customer orders.

• Evaluate individual team member performance by tracking Units Per Hour (UPH) and providing constructive feedback.

• Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation to ensure timely and efficient operations.

• Cultivate a work environment that maximizes employee involvement, morale, and engagement.

• Maintain a high standard of organization and cleanliness within the warehouse.

• Oversee all tasks and duties that impact the overall logistics center's functionality.

• Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

• A minimum of five years of experience in warehouse/logistics center management, supply chain management, or a related field.

• Strong inventory management skills with a proven track record.

• In-depth knowledge of warehouse/logistics center functions and practices, with the ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to read and write in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

• Competency in safely operating powered material handling equipment.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain successful internal and external partnerships.

• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and stand or walk for 8 hours or more daily.

• Flexibility to work extended hours, including days, nights, and weekends as necessary.
