The Packaging Qualification labs team is a dynamic, collaborative, professional group that is part of the packaging team. Our mission is to ensure the quality of packaging conception, supplier capability, and consumer experience through risk assessment, testing, and technical expertise. We perform testing in our packaging labs on new launches, formula renovations, and packaging changes to support the business. We are seeking a Manager to join our team in our Clark, New Jersey Operations Hub.
What You Will Learn:
Leads the QEHS/Logistics activities for the Packaging Qualification Laboratories within the packaging team. Promotes continual improvement processes for improving safety, health, environmental, logistics and equipment aspects for the packaging qualification labs. Exhibits strong teamwork, leadership and communication skills and possesses the ability to effectively manage change in a dynamic work environment business.
QEHS:
  • Responsible for ensuring department compliance with L'Oreal QEHS policy and requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring department compliance with regulatory requirements including OSHA, DOT, DEP, and RCRA
  • Drives safety and quality culture of the department through training, coaching, and audits
  • Determines relevant safety trainings and topics for team employees, including safety orientation for new hires
  • Trains and leads employees in risk assessment (SHAP), MESURs, incident investigation and post-incident follow-up action

  • Manages storage and flows of waste including interfacing with 3rd party waste disposal contractor.
  • Responsible for maintaining KPIs for QEHS metrics to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement
  • Provide QEHS support and guidance for related lab partners including Advanced Engineering, Aerosol, OMA and Raw Materials & Bulk labs.
  • Manges Logistics flows for compatibility and homologation, including ordering, receiving, storage, and handling of bulk and components.
  • Manages Logistics flows of components for packaging between Clark location and 3rd party warehouse.
  • Manges bulk expiry and bulk/retain destruction.
  • Responsible for maintaining KPIs for Logistics metrics to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement
  • Transversal support to the Skin, Hair, and Cosmetic Qualification Metier for training content & materials, and Quality System.

EQUIPMENT
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the department equipment and repairs
  • Responsible for tracking spending on equipment and repairs, and maintaining asset list
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating laboratory supplies and inventory management including research and acquisition of new lab materials.

Required Qualifications:
  • 7-10 years of industrial experience, safety or quality management required
  • A completed Bachelor's degree in engineering, material science, or equivalent technical discipline is required
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Well versed in Microsoft programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS)
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization including contractors and visitors.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and motivate employees
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent, ongoing basis is required. No immigration support/sponsorship offered for this role.
  • The ability to be onsite, in the office at least 3 days a week, as this is an essential function of the position (required)
