Logistics Manager
The Logistics Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities within Central Warehouse, Shipping & Receiving departments, and associated staff. Work with inhouse planners and buyers to ensure appropriate material stocking levels. Responsible for all aspects of the production services which includes on time delivery, inventory management, negotiation with carriers' routes, rates, and shipping & receiving procedures to meet customer delivery requirements. Must be able to evaluate logistical supplier performance, as well as develop a comprehensive strategic logistical plan that best optimizes budgeted ship dollars, including cost savings. Lead the associates and collaborate with cross functional teams to meet goals of safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost.
As a Logistics Manager you will:
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure timeliness, accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Determine shipping requirements, number and style of truck for all outgoing shipments.
  • Ensure space is utilized effectively to cost and service requirements.
  • Analyze and standardizes procedures to improve shipping and receiving efficiency.
  • Ensure the physical layout of the warehouse and receiving environment is safe, organized and ergonomically efficient.
  • Evaluate freight costs associated with in & outbound services to ensure that costs are appropriate.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction improvements in the logistics of material movement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with freight companies and transload facilities to meet the needs of shipments to customers
  • Develop efficient processes to deliver materials to manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain relevant KPIs.
  • Prepare monthly & quarterly data tracking spend, fuel, surcharges, and shipping/receiving department goals.
  • Create visual management system and metrics that align within the G&W strategy and goals.
  • Analyze and standardizes procedures to improve department efficiency.
  • Perform regular facility and safety inspections and audits within shipping, receiving and warehouse departments.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction improvements.
  • Interview, select, train, evaluate and recommend personnel team talent.
  • Mentor and coach employees to achieve a high level of performance.
  • Ensure adherence to rules and workplace policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Has a minimum 5 years in logistics, distribution, and warehouse management.
  • Holds a Bachelors degree, preferably in operations, engineering , business management; or equivalent experience.
  • Possesses strong time management skills and customer focus.
  • Has familiarity with OSHA rules and regulations. Safety-focused attitude.
  • Has familiarity with DOT regulations.
  • Possesses knowledge with international shipping a plus.
  • Has strong time management skills and customer focus

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, previous experience with JDE ERP and WMS required.

  • Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Follows through with commitments and ensures completion of tasks

What we offer you:
Typical pay is $96,555 - $128,577 annually.
