Position Summary:

The Logistics Manager oversees logistics management within a specified region, ensuring effective control, delivery, and distribution of products and materials for renewable energy projects. This role ensures the implementation of strategic logistics processes to achieve high performance at optimal cost. Key attributes include a deep understanding of company logistics policies and the ability to identify opportunities for process streamlining at project sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement logistics policies and procedures to increase project efficiency.
  • Adhere to and monitor the strategic logistics plan, focusing on productivity, speed, and accuracy.
  • Provide personnel with logistics training, root cause analysis, and reviews.
  • Continually update and review logistics policies and procedures.
  • Conduct project logistics audits based on established tracking systems within the region.
  • Direct daily logistics operations, identifying areas for process improvement.
  • Conduct inventory audits, identifying potential inventory concerns.
  • Mentor and guide project-level logistics teams.
  • Assist logistics coordinators in workflow streamlining for optimal field productivity.
  • Assess project logistics teams using set metrics to drive accountability.
  • Prepare and present project-specific logistics reports to leadership.
  • Champion safety, supporting the corporate safety program.
  • Handle additional assignments and duties as requested by leadership.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in logistics management; 1 year in renewable energy (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in business, transportation, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management.
  • Proficiency in the construction/electrical/solar/renewable and logistics/transportation industries.
  • Ability to analyze data and present findings.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory/warehouse management software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Skilled in operating a truck with a trailer; willingness to transport material.
  • Overnight and extended travel required.
  • Valid US Driver's license.
  • Must pass a drug screening.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • This job often operates in a field environment and will be required to travel to and from job sites as needed. This position requires up to 70% travel. This role routinely requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
