ABOUT THE ROLE

The Lead Construction Manager is the senior accountable construction leader on the program, with field authority across all three projects. The role is to be conducted by construction execution oversight of CM, contractor performance, field HSE, field quality, and the operating rhythm of the construction organization. It is the single point of construction accountability spanning enabling works. This is an Owner representation role that supports in ensuring design, construction execution and quality are adhered to and set up for successful mechanical completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Lead the field construction organization: WPO Leads, Construction Managers, Construction Quality Leads, and Assistant Construction Manager.
  • Own field HSE leadership in partnership with the HSE Director; enforce LIFE program and BeyondZero expectations.
  • Support CM with the construction look-ahead, daily and weekly planning rhythms, and constraint removal on the owner side.
  • Own contractor performance management, productivity tracking, and field issue escalation.
  • Partner with the Lead PM and PMs to deliver milestone-by-milestone against the program schedule.
  • Champion quality-at-the-source culture; ensure first-time-right execution on critical systems.
  • Lead constructability inputs into design and value engineering.
  • Build and run the field leadership team's operating cadence (daily plan-of-day, weekly look-ahead, monthly construction reviews).
  • Supporting in constructability reviews and site logistics efficiencies.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or related.
  • 20+ years of large-scale capital construction experience; 10+ years as a senior construction manager on pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated-industry projects >$500+M TIC.
  • Track record leading multi-discipline, multi-contractor field organizations through full lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated HSE leadership; OSHA 30 minimum.
  • English required.

Preferred

  • CSP or equivalent preferred.
  • PMP and AGC/CMAA membership preferred.
  • Spanish strongly preferred for Puerto Rico site leadership.
