Job Summary

The Logistics Data Entry Clerk is responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining logistics and transportation data within company systems. This role supports daily operations by ensuring shipment, inventory, and rail service records are timely and precise, helping coordinate efficient workflow across departments. Assists with all aspects of daily logistics operations.

*This position works out of our corporate office located in Bloomington, Indiana


Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain logistics data, including shipment details, railcar movements, inventory records, and service schedules
  • Verify data accuracy and resolve discrepancies with operations, dispatch, or field teams
  • Track and update shipment statuses and delivery timelines
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records of logistics activities
  • Generate routine reports for management on logistics performance and data trends
  • Communicate with internal departments to ensure alignment on scheduling and documentation
  • Assist with billing documentation, invoices, and compliance records as needed
  • Follow company policies and industry regulations related to transportation and logistics

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred)
  • Previous data entry, logistics, or administrative experience preferred
  • Ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time and multi-task.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suites and extensive hands-on experience in Excel.
  • Ability to handle large volumes of data efficiently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Basic understanding of logistics, transportation, or rail industry operations is a plus
  • Experience with Sage 300 and SOS a plus
