SUMMARY:
Temple College is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking professional to serve as Program Lead and Industrial Trainer for the Global Logistics and Smart Supply Chain program, housed within the Texas Integrated Manufacturing and Engineering (TIME) Center. This role is central to developing a next-generation workforce prepared for careers in logistics, distribution, and supply chain operations enhanced by automation, robotics, and digital technologies.
The ideal candidate will bring industry experience in logistics systems, warehouse automation, inventory control, and supply chain operations, with strong familiarity in emerging technologies such as autonomous systems, RFID tracking, smart conveyors, cloud-based logistics platforms, and integrated robotics. This position supports the rapid evolution of Central Texas as a hub for advanced manufacturing, distribution, and global supply chain activity.
Under general supervision from the Vice President of Workforce Development, the incumbent will lead program development, deliver instruction, and support workforce training initiatives aligned with industry needs. The Program Lead will develop curriculum, manage lab environments, coordinate with industry partners, and deliver training across credit, non-credit, and customized contract programs.
This role also supports workforce innovation through applied learning, industry engagement, and integration of Industry 4.0 technologies into logistics and supply chain education.
Please note: This is a non-tenured teaching position on a Professional Staff salary contract.
Qualifications (Required and Preferred)
Required Qualifications:

• Associate's degree (or higher) and three (3) years of related non-teaching industry experience in logistics, supply chain management, distribution, or a related field.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in warehouse operations, transportation logistics, or supply chain systems.
• Working knowledge of logistics technologies such as inventory systems, RFID, warehouse management systems (WMS), or transportation management systems (TMS).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with global logistics trends, trade, and distribution networks, including military experience.
• Experience with automation technologies, including robotics, autonomous vehicles, smart conveyors, or IoT-enabled logistics systems.
• Industry certifications (e.g., APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP, Six Sigma, Lean, OSHA).
• Teaching, training, or curriculum development experience.
• Experience with cloud-based supply chain platforms, data analytics, or digital logistics systems.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will:

• Lead development and management of the Global Logistics and Smart Supply Chain program curriculum.
• Manage logistics training labs, including smart warehouse systems, automation equipment, and simulation tools.
• Teach courses in logistics, supply chain operations, warehouse management, and related topics across credit and non-credit programs.
• Integrate emerging technologies such as RFID, automation, robotics, data analytics, and cloud-based systems into instruction.
• Collaborate with Workforce and Continuing Education to deliver customized training for industry partners.
• Support development of short-term credentials, certifications, and workforce training pathways.
• Coordinate with adjunct faculty and industry partners to expand program delivery.
• Promote the program through community outreach, employer engagement, and workforce initiatives.
• Assist in establishing prior learning assessment and industry certification alignment.
• Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with institutional and state requirements.
• Provide student advising, mentorship, and career pathway guidance.
• Participate in professional development, committees, and college initiatives.
• Support recruitment and retention efforts for workforce programs.
• Ensure lab safety, compliance, and proper use of equipment.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant to regional industry partners.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work is performed in classroom, lab, and high-bay logistics training environments within the TIME Center.

• ANNUAL LEAVE ACCRUALS:

Regular, full-time twelve (12) month faculty and staff accrue Annual Leave as follows:

• Years of Service: 0 through 5
  • Accrual Rate (Maximum Accrual Hours per Month) = 8
  • Accrual Rate (Maximum Accrual Hours per Year) = 96
• Years of Service: 6 through 10
  • Accrual Rate (Maximum Accrual Hours per Month) =10
  • Accrual Rate (Maximum Accrual Hours per Year) =120
• Years of Service: 10 plus years
  • Accrual Rate (Maximum Accrual Hours per Month) =12
  • Accrual Rate (Maximum Accrual Hours per Year) =144

Annual leave may be accrued up to a limit of 240 hours with special provisions allowing for annual accruals above that limit. Faculty with contracts less than 12 months do not accrue Annual Leave but are provided with 20 hours of personal time per fiscal year.

• SICK LEAVE ACCRUALS:

Faculty and Administrative Staff: Accruals of 8 hours per month. Sick Leave may be accrued up to a limit of 1040 total hours. Faculty with contracts less than 12 months will receive accruals during the summer semester if they instruct during that time.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• HOLIDAYS:Recognized college holidays, in addition to Annual and Sick leave accruals, include Labor Day, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Martin Luther King Day, Spring Break, Good Friday, Memorial Day and Independence Day.
• PAYROLL: Employees are paid by direct deposit through the last working day of the month. Actual deposits are paid on the last working business day of the month. All benefit deductions are taken at that time.
• RETIREMENT: Temple College is one of the few community colleges in the state of Texas to be permitted Federal Social Security deductions. Temple College is a Section 218 employer.

All regular employees are mandated by the Texas State Legislature to enroll in either the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) or the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) however, ORP participation is based upon position.
