Schedule:Full time; Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Job overview:

Schneider is seeking a Logistics Buyer in Green Bay to identify, select and onboard transportation and logistics carriers and suppliers for Schneiders customers. The Logistics Buyer will negotiate rates and service agreements, manage provider performance and coordinate all procurement-related activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand customers supply chain strategies and how they measure success.
  • Select service provider options to meet customers objectives.
  • Provide transportation solutions based on customers needs.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to create and execute operating plans.
  • Negotiate contract rates by staying up to date on market trends.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with service providers to provide supply chain value to customers.
  • Mitigate risk through leveraging safety and service compliance processes.
  • Lead monthly reviews to evaluate the performance of carriers and logistics suppliers.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
