Description

Trenam Law is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support attorneys within our Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group in our Tampa office. This role enhances attorney effectiveness by providing high-level commercial litigation support and ensuring the efficient operation of litigation matters. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in case file management, scheduling and calendaring, discovery support, court filings, document preparation, and deposition and trial preparation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level legal and administrative support to litigation attorneys, ensuring deadlines are met, and client service is exceptional.
  • Draft, format, proofread, edit, and finalize complex legal documents, including briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, court appearances, and legal deadlines.
  • Coordinate with clients, courts, and internal teams while maintaining accurate contact information and case details.
  • Support deposition and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and arranging logistics.
  • Assist with opening new matters by gathering relevant information, initiating conflict checks, and preparing engagement and preservation letters.
  • Review and file emails, correspondence, and case documents in iManage/DMS (Document Management System).
  • Assist with attorney time entry using Aderant.
  • Set up conferences and meetings and assist with pulling case law when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail in all tasks and interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant; prior litigation experience preferred.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems; iManage experience helpful.
  • Strong knowledge of court filing procedures (both electronic and in-person).
  • Accurate, quality work product; strong attention to detail; highly organized.
  • Highly responsive and able to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Works effectively independently and as a team member in support of overarching goal of excellent client service.
