Job Summary
Pregis is seeking a talented Logistics Analyst to conduct carrier sourcing events, manage carrier compliance, handle weekly consolidated invoicing, assist on financial analysis related to freight spend, and transport related escalation management. This is an exciting opportunity to bolster our skilled corporate logistics team.
The Logistics Analyst will provide Pregis with a wealth of knowledge related to freight markets and financial analysis and support our 30 different shipping sites in the US from a centralized corporate position.
Location
The Logistics Analyst will be based at our Chicago, IL headquarter location.
Responsibilities
North American Carrier/TMS Management
  • Assist in managing existing TL carrier network
    • Bring in new carrier partners
    • Drive carrier compliance
    • Develop strategies to mitigate rising freight costs
  • Main point of contact for Small Package/Parcel
  • Main point of contact for LTL carrier network
  • Review NMFC meeting notes to keep Pregis accurate with LTL class rating changes
  • Secondary point of contact for Pregis with our TMS provider
  • Maintain carrier files (insurance certs, DOT, etc.)
  • Escalation point of contact for shipments encountering issues acting as the bridge between Pregis internal, our TMS, and carrier partners
  • Responsible for all transportation related vendor set up in ERP & TMS
  • Ad-hoc analysis on potential rate or rule changes initiated by carriers
  • Develop and manage domestic carrier networks to deliver excellent service to our customers
  • Building and sustaining business partner relationships with third-party freight vendors
  • Conduct audits on material data integrity and lead clean up efforts

Management of domestic freight bill pay and audit process
  • Audit, Review, and dispute LTL invoice discrepancies
  • Work with LTL & Small package AP departments to ensure timely payment to carrier partners
  • Approve/Reject invoicing issues

International Shipping
  • Arrange shipments with freight forwarding partners on behalf of select sites
  • Develop KPIs for our forwarding networks
  • Escalation point of contact for international shipments encountering issues
  • Audit, Review, and dispute international shipping discrepancies

Building and sustaining business partner relationships with third-party freight vendors
Job Requirements
Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2 to 5 years of logistics industry experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
  • SAP experience desired but not required

Skills & Training:
  • Experience using SAP.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and work well cross functionally.
  • Strong ability to assess a problem and troubleshoot effectively
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to compile and analyze performance data to develop metrics that support decision-making for resource allocation.
  • Solid business acumen, management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective time management, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated personal and professional effectiveness in initiative across a complex organization.
  • Collaborative; works well in a team environment.

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis' total compensation package. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $80-$100K.
