LOGISTICS FOR THE INDUSTRIOUS

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is for you if you're naturally curious, like data, systems and are looking to make a positive impact. This position will be responsible for data analysis, network planning / design, and load planning . A logistics analyst will gain exposure across all functions of the business, including operations and procurement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Responsible for the tactical planning of assigned customer and potential customers inbound logistics design to include duties but not limited to the following:
  • Collecting part and packaging data from various sources
  • Analyze material release quantities against part/packaging data to determine optimal shipment frequency, volume and weight
  • Develop optimal route designs that minimize miles and transit while full utilizing conveyances that meet customer inventory carrying cost objectives
  • Systematic Load Planning activities
  • Utilize logistics analysis tools such as PC Miler, 3d Load diagrams, tactical routing software and network optimization software.
  • Responsible for developing Third Party Logistics (3pl) services and solutions including transportation consolidation services, and
    warehousing services.
  • Responsible contributing to value-added supply chain solutions
  • Initiate and follow thru on projects as needed to implement savings initiatives, customer network optimization opportunities, new launch
    initiatives, and customer expansion opportunities
  • Drives best practices with account managers and control tower operations
  • Track, analyze and communicate key performance metrics
  • Regular and predictable attendance

OTHER SIGNIFICANTJOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
  • Assists in prospective customer proposals including but not limited to optimizations, pricing analysis, creation and review of presentations.
  • Responsible for internal communications and presentations related to key performance metrics, program updates and on-going program information
  • Ensure service providers understand and accept Customer guidelines and requirements for all logistics operations
  • Ability to be agile and multi-task, being able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work in both a team and individual environment
  • Bringing a proactive approach, identifying problems and bringing a proposed solution to the table
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements
PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, or business-related field.

REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.)
  • Computer skills including all Microsoft Office programs.
