Job description

The Director of Facilities at LiveHappy, Inc is the overseer and linchpin for the seamless 

functioning of our entire establishment. Entrusted with the comprehensive management of our facility's 

infrastructure, this role demands both technical expertise and visionary leadership. Your hands-on 

experience with intricate systems, coupled with your strategic mindset, will be pivotal in propelling our 

operational standards to unmatched heights.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Management and Maintenance:

• Oversee daily operations of chiller plants, boiler plants, and other multifaceted 

mechanical systems.

• Oversee and maintain the robotics and automation systems to minimize interruptions to 

the production line. 

• Regularly inspect facility equipment to ensure optimal function and longevity.

• Address any breakdowns or malfunctions promptly, minimizing downtime.

• Develop a comprehensive preventative maintenance program aligned with operational 

requirements of the facility.

• Develop and implement a 24-hour staffing plan to ensure the facility is maintained and 

monitored during off hours. 

• Supervise all Building Management Systems to ensure and monitor the performance of 

the infrastructure.

2. Safety and Compliance:

• Design, implement, and enforce safety procedures for all facility operations, ensuring a 

safe work environment.

• Stay abreast of and ensure strict adherence to local, state, and federal regulations 

pertaining to facility operations and safety.

• Implement routine safety training programs for continues improvement.

• Provide companywide monthly safety reports. 

3. Team Leadership and Development:

• Hire, train, and manage a skilled facilities team, ensuring they are aligned with company 

objectives.

• Conduct regular performance reviews, identifying areas of improvement and providing 

constructive feedback.

• Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

4. Budget Management:

• Develop and manage the facilities department budget, ensuring efficient allocation of 

resources.

• Monitor and control maintenance costs, initiating cost-saving measures.

• Deliver monthly reports on the facility's budget.

5. Strategic Planning:

• Plan and implement infrastructure upgrades based on the facility’s current and future 

needs.

• Collaborate with upper management to align facilities projects with broader company 

goals.

6. Innovation and Technology:

• Investigate and implement modern automation solutions to optimize facility operations.

• Stay updated on advancements in inventory logistics systems, exploring integration 

were advantageous.

• Stay updated on all building systems, encompassing further training, software 

enhancements, and related advancements.

7. Vendor and Contract Management:

• Identify, vet, and manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service 

providers.

• Negotiate contracts ensuring favorable terms and quality service delivery.

8. Reporting and Documentation:

• Regularly update upper management on the status, performance, and needs of facility 

operations.

• Ensure proper documentation of all facility operations, maintenance activities, and 

safety protocols.

• Establish a maintenance tracking system using work orders and equipment tags.

9. Emergency Preparedness:

• Develop and maintain an emergency response plan for facility-related incidents.

• Conduct regular drills to ensure staff readiness and system efficacy.

10. Continuous Improvement:

• Periodically assess operational processes, identifying areas for improvement or 

optimization.

• Attend relevant workshops, seminars, or courses to stay updated on industry best 

practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facility Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or 

relevant certifications are beneficial.

• Extensive hands-on experience with chiller plants, boiler plants, and complex mechanical 

systems.

• Proven experience in team leadership, budget development, and safety procedure 

implementation.

• Knowledge of, or experience with, automation technologies and inventory logistics systems.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.

• Salary: Annual salary ranging from $110,000 to $140,000, based on experience and 

qualifications.
