Your Impact
The Operations Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence across all projects within the assigned region. This role serves as the operational leader and guide for project execution, safety, staffing, risk management, and performance consistency. The Operations Manager works closely with Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents, and Professional Service Groups to ensure predictable project outcomes, continuous improvement, and alignment with company standards.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Incident-Free Environment (IFE) Champion for the region.
  • Provide leadership for project execution and performance excellence across all regional projects.
  • Lead and support Project Execution Planning (PEP) for assigned projects.
  • Identify, mitigate, resolve, and prevent troubled projects through early intervention and oversight.
  • Oversee project execution and chair project kick-off meetings.
  • Act as the operational leader during project reviews and Project Status Review (PSR) meetings.
  • Ensure consistent and effective project closeout across all projects.
  • Identify and resolve critical regional operational issues.
  • Serve as a key conduit between project teams and Professional Service Groups.
  • Lead people development, recruitment, staffing, and scheduling efforts for field and operations teams.
  • Ensure operational training compliance and support employee relations matters.
  • Provide oversight and support for project field staffing, performance, and issue resolution.
  • Lead risk management efforts including project peer reviews with a focus on Risk Register items.
  • Maintain regular engagement with projects and teams through ESSVs, compliance reviews, and team meetings.
  • Support and participate in project pursuits, with emphasis on logistics, execution planning, schedules, and staffing.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives including lessons learned, best practices, and employee development.
  • Support preconstruction planning and staffing alignment with operations.
  • Chair Regional Operations Meetings
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in construction or operations leadership.
  • Proven experience overseeing multiple projects or regional operations.
  • Strong background in project execution, safety leadership, and operational risk management.
  • Advanced understanding of construction operations, project execution, and field leadership.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills in complex, multi-project environments.
  • Ability to identify and resolve operational and performance risks.
  • Strong people leadership skills including coaching, staffing, and development.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across project and corporate teams.
  • Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Management, or a related field, OR equivalent industry experience.
  • Advanced leadership or safety certifications preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Employees must be able to hear, speak, and communicate effectively. Work occurs in data center environments with potential exposure to electrical hazards, noise, and varying temperatures. Flexible hours, including nights and weekends, may be required.
Physical requirements include bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead. Must lift at least 50 lbs, raise arms above shoulder level, and perform overhead work for extended periods. The ability to climb and carry ladders (up to 12 ft), navigate stairways, and work at heights up to 90 ft using ladders, scaffolds, or lifts is essential.
Employees must access restricted areas (e.g., switchgear rooms, vaults, tunnels, crawl spaces) and wear full PPE. Good vision and hearing (normal or corrected) and accurate color identification are required. Some projects may lack food facilities, so bringing meals and snacks is necessary.
