Job overview:

Schneider is seeking a Warehouse Operations Manager in Carlsbad to lead a warehouse or terminal. The Warehouse Operations Manager will coach warehouse associates while overseeing warehouse metrics related to safety, quality, productivity, cost control and customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of warehouse associates and leaders.
  • Adhere to budgets and review financial results.
  • Develop strategies around staffing and schedules to align with volume and demand.
  • Hold associates and leaders accountable for achieving business metrics and goals.
  • Provide guidance on the warehouse's daily activities, including loading/unloading freight, doing maintenance, checking inventory, etc.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve issues and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Organize regular staff meetings to ensure proper communication.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of previous logistics, supply chain or warehouse experience.
  • Knowledge of warehouse and yard management systems.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Valid driver's license and meet Schneider's DMV record standards.
