Job description

Job Title: Logistics Tech
Classification: Hourly
Department: Logistics
Reports to: Logistics Supervisor
Position: Days
Position Summary:
Logistics Tech provides support in the loading/unloading of trucks and material handling functions to support all Logistics operations. The expectation is to rotate in various areas of the logistics department as business needs dictate.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain logistics equipment while ensuring safety compliance
  • Moving material to appropriate departments, locations & people.
  • Picking/scanning/loading of customer orders utilizing QAD
  • Material handling of FG material from production area to warehouse.
  • Perform inventory counts.
  • Maintain 5S activity in all areas of the plant, with focus on Logistics areas
  • Report all unsafe issues, actions or behaviors to your supervisor regardless of department
  • Follow Stop-Call-Wait policy.
  • Attention to detail & ability to follow all KAAP policies as well as departmental procedures.
  • Complete all assigned Safety procedures such as BBS, Dakotas as well equipment checklists and Dock Door Safety Audits.
  • Ability & willingness to cross train in all areas of Logistic Operations.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Operate equipment safely and correctly avoiding abuse of company property & equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent problem solving and time management.
  • Ability to work well in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision when required.
  • Communicate & collaborate with team members to achieve daily KPI success.
  • Intermediate computer skills to navigate QAD as well as basic MS Office tools
Education & Requirements:
  • Ability to Obtain & Maintain KAAP Forklift certification as well as other equipment certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience working in a multicultural company is preferred.
  • Experience in automotive sector is preferred.
  • Work in all areas of the Logistics Department as business needs require.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic English
  • Ability to follow instructions
