Job description

The Inventory Analyst supports daily warehouse and inventory control operations by performing receiving, issuing, labeling, data entry, and material handling tasks. This role is essential in maintaining accurate records, ensuring proper storage, and supporting depot-level logistics and sustainment activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Process incoming materials through verification, labeling, and system entry
  • Issue and distribute inventory items according to work orders or demand
  • Tag, label, and organize materials within appropriate bins, shelves, and locations
  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and discrepancy reconciliation
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in ERP/WMS systems
  • Support staging, kitting, and movement of materials for maintenance or production activities
  • File and maintain receiving/issue documents for audit readiness
  • Follow established safety, security, and inventory control procedures
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in warehouse areas
  • Work shipboard as required
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Train and support less experienced clerks
  • Quality to address quality deficiency issues
  • Work under minimal supervision
  • Train and oversee other inventory clerks
  • Handle specialized inventory control functions such as Government Property, Shelf‑Life, Tool Control, or Main Warehouse operations
  • Maintain Hazardous Materials qualifications
  • Perform safety inspections and provide oversight

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, inventory, or material handling roles
  • Basic to Intermediate computer proficiency with inventory or warehouse systems
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency with inventory or warehouse systems
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and develop standard operating procedures
  • US Citizenship is required 

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment
  • Strong knowledge of PHS&T (Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation) requirements for sensitive equipment
  • Ability to package, preserve, and prepare items for shipment in accordance with DoD and industry standards
  • Skilled in safe loading/unloading, warehouse safety practices, and OSHA compliance
  • Experience managing organized, secure storage areas and controlled inventory zones
  • Proficient in receiving inspections, damage checks, and verifying materials against documentation
  • Basic Hazardous Materials training (preferred)
