Job description

Position Objective: The Grain Merchandiser is responsible for the purchase and sale of grain and feed commodities. They must have a strong understanding of the grain market and be able to identify and capitalize on trading opportunities. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and results-oriented individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze market data and trends to identify trading opportunities.
  • Develop and execute trading strategies.
  • Manage risk and minimize losses.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing.
  • Monitor market conditions and make adjustments to trading strategies as needed.
  • Stay up to date on industry news and regulations.
  • Manage underlying hedging strategies for corn, beans, wheat, soybean meal, soybean oil.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in the grain industry.
  • Strong understanding of the grain market.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
