Position Description

The production artist – global labeling supports the development, creation, and maintenance of product labeling and Instructions for Use for Applied Medical’s global medical device portfolio. This role ensures that artwork, templates, and labeling materials meet quality, regulatory, and brand standards across multiple languages and product lines. By working closely with the Global Labeling team and crossfunctional partners, the production artist contributes to highquality product launches, accurate labeling updates, and consistent documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow Applied Medical Quality Systems and safety guidelines to ensure compliant and accurate execution of labeling and artwork activities.
  • Create and maintain product labeling, Instructions for Use documents, and packaging materials in alignment with regulatory documentation requirements.
  • Implement multilanguage translations into product labeling, packaging, and supporting documentation.
  • Create blackandwhite vector line drawings and edit artwork layouts to align with established and newly developed dielines.
  • Ensure brand consistency and quality standards across all artwork, layouts, and production files.
  • Prepare electronic production files for print, including organizing layers, fonts, graphics, and formatting per prepress guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Global Labeling team to develop templates, improve workflows, and support labelingrelated projects.
  • Facilitate project completion through effective project management, documentation, and attention to detail during label creation, review, and implementation.

  • Deliver accurate, compliant, and highquality labeling and artwork with minimal revision cycles.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently by maintaining clear communication, detailed documentation, and consistent followup.
  • Support crossfunctional collaboration by providing timely updates, clear artwork files, and reliable contributions to shared deliverables.
  • Enhance labeling workflows by identifying improvements and applying creative problemsolving.
  • Maintain strong alignment with brand, regulatory, and quality standards across all global labeling outputs.

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in artwork development and production processes.
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat to execute artwork and layout projects.
  • Work effectively under pressure while managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Apply strong attention to detail when initiating, reviewing, and completing labeling projects and documentation.
  • Collaborate within a team environment, contributing clear communication and responsive project support.
  • Communicate effectively through written and oral interaction with crossfunctional partners.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office programs to support documentation, communication, and file management.
  • Demonstrate proactivity, thoroughness, and strong followup skills when preparing files, reviewing artwork, or developing contingency plans.
  • Use labeling software such as Loftware Spectrum or equivalent systems in support of regulated labeling processes.

Preferred

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as graphic design, industrial design, technical communication, or visual arts.
  • Bring technical systems knowledge supporting artwork, labeling, or document control workflows.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or SolidWorks functionality related to labeling.
  • Offer familiarity with labeling regulations relevant to medical device manufacturing and distribution.
  • Contribute prepress experience and knowledge of preparing artwork files for print production.
