Facility:
This regional medical center serves as a vital healthcare resource for the surrounding community, providing comprehensive surgical and emergency services to the residents of Sampson County and surrounding areas. The facility offers onsite hospital-owned individual apartments for locum providers, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay during assignments.
Opportunity:
Physician (MD) - Orthopaedic Surgery
Job Details:
  • General orthopedic surgery with 24-hour call coverage
  • Expected patient volume of 0-3 consults per day
  • 0-2 ED visits per day for closed reductions and admissions
  • 0-2 surgeries per day including wrist, ankle, and hip fractures and I&D
  • Long bone trauma cases are stabilized and transferred
  • Must have an active NC license and NC DEA with NC address
  • Board certification required
  • Provider must be credentialed with Medicaid/Medicare and enrolled with PECOS as a provider
  • Provider must be vaccinated
  • Provider must be within 20 minutes of the hospital at all times while on call
  • NPI# must be included in candidate bid
  • Required certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS
  • Required skills include arthroscopy, total joint replacement (hip, knee, and other), joint revision or repair (shoulder, hip, knee, and other), hand surgery, tendon release/repair, peripheral nerve surgery, spinal surgery with and without instrumentation (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar), and percutaneous disc surgery
  • Hospital-owned onsite apartments provided with cable and Wi-Fi
  • Travel expenses capped at $500.00, including airfare, rental car, or mileage (not both)
  • Estimated credentialing timeframe of 5 days
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
