Job description

Job Summary:
Zynga is a global leader in interactive entertainment, known for its diverse game portfolio. The Sr DevOps Engineer will design, architect, and support back-end services, develop new technologies, and optimize infrastructure for critical game components.
Responsibilities:
• Design, architect, and support back-end services running in AWS
• Develop, integrate, and advocate for new technologies and tools
• Load-test, benchmark and optimize infrastructure
• Define, architect, and develop features and gameplay functionality in PHP
• Maintain and develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tooling
• Provide escalation support and infrastructure monitoring
• Follow engineering standard methodologies to ensure code quality, performance and reliability
• Work to identify and help to improve team and process inefficiencies
• Help to mentor other engineers
Qualifications:
Required:
• Degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering) or equivalent experience
• 5+ Years of backend software development experience
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS
• Experience maintaining and developing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tooling
• Experience with PHP or a similar programming language
• Experience building and operating high-traffic, low-latency backend systems at scale
• Strong familiarity and experience with database systems (SQL, NoSQL)
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software methodologies
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in a collaborative environment
Preferred:
• Prior game development experience (on shipped titles or live games experience)
• Experience with Chef, Terraform and/or Jenkins
• Experience in Vue.js or similar frontend frameworks
• Experience migrating monolithic architectures to distributed microservices
