Maintenance Technician JLL
What this job involves:
The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring operational excellence at our client facility in Waynesboro, VA. You'll be responsible for maintaining the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen equipment that keeps the facility running smoothly and efficiently. Working alongside experienced engineers and the operations team, you'll tackle everything from routine maintenance to emergency repairs, directly contributing to JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facility management services. This hands-on position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills while making a tangible impact on the daily operations of a major facility.
What your day to day will look like:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems both independently and in collaboration with the engineering team. You'll troubleshoot issues, replace lighting components, and handle minor plumbing repairs to keep facilities operating without interruption.
  • Utilize the Corrigo CMMS system to track work orders, document completed tasks, and manage materials procurement. Maintaining accurate records ensures efficient operations and helps identify recurring maintenance needs.
  • Respond to diverse facilities needs including painting projects, locksmith services, furniture moves, and tenant service requests. Your versatility will help address whatever challenges arise each day.
  • Maintain strict compliance with safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and all applicable State, County, and City ordinances. You'll proactively identify potential hazards and recommend solutions to eliminate safety risks.
  • Manage hazardous materials according to established policies for storage, usage, and disposal, ensuring environmental safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training programs to continuously enhance your skills in safety protocols, equipment operation, and maintenance best practices.
  • Support the on-call rotation to address urgent facility needs outside regular business hours, ensuring 24/7 operational readiness.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in general building repair and maintenance, including basic plumbing and electrical work
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, plus a valid state driver's license
  • Physical capability to lift minimum 80 lbs., safely operate ladders up to 30 feet, and work in various positions including climbing, bending, and kneeling throughout the day
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform repairs effectively
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral, enabling clear documentation and effective collaboration with team members and building occupants.
  • U.S. Citizenship required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), particularly Corrigo or similar platforms
  • Background in commercial or industrial facility maintenance environments
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems operation and basic maintenance procedures
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and workplace safety best practices
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and scheduled equipment inspections
  • Basic understanding of building automation systems and controls
  • Previous experience in customer-facing facilities roles requiring professional interaction with tenants and visitors.

Schedule: (Monday through Friday, 7am-3pm with flexible scheduling, plus on-call rotation).
