Overview
Daifuku Airport America Corporation is a subsidiary of Daifuku North America a group company of Daifuku in Japan - the largest material handling company in the world. Our advanced systems move everything from car bodies at auto plants to luggage at airports to packaged goods at warehouses. We are known as experts in engineering, manufacturing, and servicing innovative automated materials handling systems including conveyors, automatic guided vehicles, automated storage & retrieval systems, and integrated controls.
The company is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager.
Responsibilities
Position Summary/ Primary Purpose
Reporting to the Executive Manager of Project Management, the role of a Project Manager is ensuring the effective development and delivery of Airport Baggage Handling systems to our customers. You will lead a cross functional team of mechanical, electrical and software engineers as well as subcontractors to design, install and commission customer solutions to some of the world's largest airports.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
  • Complete projects on schedule and under budget.
  • Establish project parameters and review all material.
  • Establish project team and conduct project review meetings. Project Manager is responsible for all meetings and meeting documentation.
  • Meet with customer and sales team to review project.
  • Establish procedure to ensure easy and complete communication to the customer, project team and all others involved (written and oral).
  • Oversight of engineering teams, including monitoring hours usage, scope reviews and receipt of deliverables.
  • Establish a detailed schedule, establish priorities, and identify lead times.
  • Establish a cash flow schedule.
  • Monitor engineering and make sure that downstream activities are supported.
  • Make sure all drawing submittals between Webb and the customer runs smoothly and that all transmittals are recorded.
  • Review all estimates and advise Sales of its disposition.
  • Review all change orders before work proceeds.
  • Review major sub-contracts.
  • Establish a procedure for working with accounting and issuing invoices.
  • Develop a procedure for keeping management aware of job status.
  • Review all punch lists.
  • Initiate job closeout.
  • Travel and overtime required as business needs dictate, travel may be frequent and visits to customer sites and walking project sites are expected.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Desired Skills and Experience
  • 5+ Years' experience in Airport Baggage Handling Project Management experience required.
  • Airport experience strongly preferred
  • Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred.
  • Must be hard worker/self-starter.
  • Knowledge of computer scheduling software, preferably Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Must be able to travel.

Demonstrated Physical Abilities as Follows: Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence. Capable of maneuvering through an industrial conveyor system requiring climbing access ladders, negotiating screen guards and lifting and/or carrying objects up to 40 lbs.
