Job Responsibilities:

Mission of the Position:

Supplier Quality Development Engineer (SQDE) Electronics ensures process standardization with respect to launch programs by supporting SQDE projects principally in Magna Powertrain (MPT) North America (NA).The individual will ensure compliance while focusing on flawless launch initiatives for MPT NA Programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct varioussupplier-relatedaudits on potential,newand current suppliers to Magna Powertrain: Supplier Capability Assessments, Run-at-Rates, Manufacturing Capability Audits, Control Plan Audits, etc., and take necessary actions asrequired.

  • Monitor supplier performance (Incidents, PPM's, COPQ) and develop / implement effective action plans to improve poor performing suppliers.

  • Ability toidentifysupplier improvements (process, quality system, etc.) and ensure effective actions are taken to improveKMIs.

  • Issue supplier performance PC's and follow through to completion.

  • Disposition supplier PPAP's and 8D's (5-Why).

  • Manage Cost Recovery process with suppliers.

  • CoordinateSupplier ChangeRequests.

  • Support manufacturing locations onsupplier relatedperformance issues (conduct 8D verification, review containment process).

  • Conduct supplier quality procedure / process type training and awareness activities with suppliers (SRM, PPAP, etc.).

  • Support new program launches, supplier localization, resourcing projects, etc.

  • Practice andmaintainintegrity while following Magna's Charter and Constitution.

  • Follow Magna's Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.

  • Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality managementsystem(IATF).

  • Drive the development ofnew technologiesto improve quality,efficiencyand reducecost.

  • Comply withsafety policies and procedures to ensure duties of self are performed in a safe manner.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor'sDegreeRequired.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering(Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical) preferred.

  • Self-motivated, drives for improvement, strongcommunication skills.

  • 3 - 10 years of experience in Supplier Quality Development

  • 6 - 10 years of experience in Powdered Metal

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in Plant Operations

  • Experience in thefollowingcommodities would be a plus (Aluminum Castings, Iron Castings, Forgings, Electronics, Stampings, Power Metal, Fasteners, Injection Molding)

  • Experience inMetallurgical/Metalsbackground

  • Proficientin ISO/TS16949

  • Proficient in problem solving (8D, 5-Why, Drill Deep and Wide, Shainan, Six Sigma, etc.)

  • Manufacturing experience in molding, stamping, assembly, rubber extrusions, plating

  • Proficient in AIAG core tools: PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA and SPC

  • Proficient in Word / Excel / PowerPoint

  • Physical requirements includeoffice-based work like standing, sitting, and using a computer, but also involve physical activity such as walking, lifting, crouching, and climbing to conduct audits and assess supplier facilities, requiring stamina, visual acuity, and manual dexterity.

Work Environment:

Abilityto travel (approximately 50-80% domestic and international), valid Passport.

While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles,fumesand various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
