Job Overview

This Director-level role provides strategic technology leadership for the Manufacturing & Operations domain, with a strong emphasis on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).  This role works to shape the digital enablement of end-to-end Manufacturing capabilities including planning, procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, supply chain, transportation, and distribution. The role serves as a trusted business partner to these functions translating evolving business strategies into scalable, integrated technology solutions.

The Manufacturing & Operations Domain Leader influences enterprise priorities, drives domain-specific technology strategy, and ensures alignment with overall business and IT roadmaps. This role frequently engages with senior executives and C-Suite leaders to guide strategic conversations, articulate technology investments in business terms, and present domain roadmaps tied to cost, service, resilience, and growth outcomes.

The Domain Leader is accountable for domain health, architecture, and outcomes, while execution responsibility resides with peer delivery and platform teams.

A Day In The Life
  • Define and drive the Manufacturing & Operations technology strategy aligned with corporate objectives such as operational efficiency, resilience, customer service, and cost optimization.
  • Work with the functions and IT SMEs to create the domain roadmap including planning, S&OP/IBP, procurement, inventory, manufacturing execution, warehouse management, transportation management, and logistics analytics.
  • Drive standardization versus localization decisions across plants to balance scale, flexibility, and time-to-value.
  • Identify technical debt, modernization opportunities, and site readiness considerations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Manufacturing, Operations, Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, EHS and Logistics leaders.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions.
  • Maintain deep expertise in Manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Accountable for health of ERP (SAP), planning systems, WMS, TMS, and integrations.
  • Lead RFPs, vendor and SI selection, and strategic partner management.
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • 15+ years of IT experience with 10+ years in Manufacturing & Operations leadership.
  • Proven experience defining enterprise MES strategies and translating business value into executable roadmaps.
  • Hands-on knowledge of leading MES platforms and manufacturing integration patterns.
  • Strong ability to quantify value, define KPIs, and influence executive stakeholders.
  • Experience with SAP, WMS, TMS, and Manufacturing planning platforms.
  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
