Summary

What You'll Do
Architect and Build: Lead the development and maintenance of complex features within our React and TypeScript single-page application, ensuring a seamless and high-performance user experience.
Champion Quality & Accessibility: Author clean, maintainable, and accessible UI components backed by rigorous testing using Vitest and Testing Library.
Bridge Design and Engineering: Collaborate closely with product and design teams to translate wireframes and requirements into polished, functional, and user-centric interfaces.
Master Data Integration: Design and implement robust integrations with REST APIs and manage real-time data flows using WebSockets.
Drive Technical Excellence: Contribute to high-level frontend architecture decisions, improve internal tooling, and uphold coding standards through meaningful code reviews and mentorship.
Own the Lifecycle: Manage feature rollouts using feature flags and analytics instrumentation, while supporting CI/CD pipelines to ensure safe and rapid deployments.
Innovate and Scale: Identify and implement performance optimizations and scalability improvements as our platform and user base continue to grow.

Job Description

Required
Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Experience: 8+ years of professional experience building, shipping, and maintaining large-scale SaaS or enterprise web applications.
Modern Frontend Expertise: Deep proficiency in React and TypeScript, with a strong understanding of state management, hooks and frontend performance patterns. Experience with micro frontends is a plus.
Testing Rigor: A strong track record of writing comprehensive unit and integration tests (ideally with Vitest and Testing Library) and a commitment to web accessibility (a11y) standards.
Cloud & Infra Literacy: Familiarity with AWS services (EKS, CloudFront, S3).
Cross-Functional Mindset: Experience working in a "T-shaped" capacity, with the ability to navigate Python/FastAPI backends and understand the full request-response lifecycle.
Execution Focus: Proven ability to lead technical initiatives from discovery to deployment, managing feature flags, analytics, and observability along the way.
Communication Skills: The ability to clearly articulate technical trade-offs to stakeholders and provide constructive, high-quality feedback to peers.
Curiosity: A continuous-learning mindset with a passion for staying current with the evolving frontend ecosystem and adopting tools that deliver real value to the team.

The Canadian CAD base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000 - $165,000 . Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.
