Primary Function

The primary role of ther Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is to provide leadership for the assigned region's territory sales representatives and to attain company sales and profit objectives within their assigned channel.  The RSM will develop and maintain relationships with key customers at all levels of the aligned channel along with engaging in new business development activities.  The  Regional Sales Manager will report to the National Sales Channel Manager and work collectively across the organization to roll out programs and initiatives that promote loyalty and enhance the customer experience.

We offer our customers unique brands, products, programs, and support to help them become respected experts within their served communities.  The SRSM will bridge the gap between A. O. Smith Water Treatment and the customer facing team to ensure mutual sustained success in tackling their market's water challenges and opportunities.

The territory for this position is Virginia, West Virgina, Maryland and Delaware.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the National Sales Channel Manager to understand initiatives and develop a plan of action that supports the goals of the territory
  • Develop a strong understanding of our wholesale brands, products and go-to-market strategies
  • Call on users and prospective users of water treatment products to influence the purchases of A. O. Smith Water Treatment's equipment and services
  • Attend and support industry and customer events in your assigned region
  • Meet sales and expense objectives outlined in the annual budget
  • Take part in planning sessions to gauge progress, overcome challenges and review opportunities
  • Follow up on leads, inquiries, and customer issues in a timely manner 
Qualifications
  • 5 years of water treatment or related experience desired
  • Bachelor's Degree desired
  • Solid Understanding of wholesalers, rep agencies and contractor businesses
  • WQA Certification is a plus
  • Travel 75% of the time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams as well as Salesforce or similar CRM tools
  • Technical aptitude and strong business acumen
  • Comfortable and willing to speak on camera and to live groups
  • Valid driver's license and own a vehicle capable of supporting travel efforts throughout territory
  • Ability to plan, meet timelines, handle multiple tasks and work collaboratively
  • Goal oriented with proven success in exceeding targets
  • Proven ability to manage time and workload from a remote/home based office
