HVAC Sales Manager

Role Overview

Johnson Controls is hiring an HVAC Sales Manager to lead account management, sales planning, forecasting, and team development in support of long-term profitable branch growth. In this role, you will build lasting relationships with key customers and influencers while guiding the sales team to deliver equipment solutions across all building types.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage account assignments for the Equipment sales team to support strong sales performance and plan attainment.
  • Plan, forecast, manage, and deliver consistent long-term profitable branch growth.
  • Lead and develop the sales team to be the premier supplier of equipment across all building types.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships with owners, architects, consulting engineers, and contractors.
  • Increase market penetration by securing new customers and expanding the existing customer base.
  • Develop and maintain Account Plans with key and target accounts.
  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts and align sales support resources accordingly.
  • Facilitate training and ensure support resources are in place to develop sales individuals capable of selling bundled offerings.
  • Develop local sales strategies aligned with branch mission and objectives.
  • Evaluate local customer satisfaction performance and lead proactive resolution of issues.
  • Represent the management team on strategically important key accounts and support customer relationship growth.
How You Will Do It
  • Own branch results with accountability, integrity, and a clear focus on safety and customer outcomes.
  • Stay close to the work by understanding local markets, competition, purchasing trends, and the needs of key account stakeholders.
  • Use accurate forecasting, candid coaching, and disciplined follow-through to improve performance every day.
  • Work as one team across sales leadership, support resources, and internal partners to remove barriers and strengthen execution.
  • Support people development through practical training, clear expectations, and shared ownership of customer success.
  • Translate branch objectives into action by aligning account plans, sales activities, and customer priorities.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of industry experience in HVAC sales, account management, and/or HVAC field operations.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience with responsibility for the productivity or development of others.
  • Experience planning, forecasting, and managing sales performance against business targets.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, and internal partners.
  • Available for frequent travel.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $122,000 - $190,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
