POSITION SUMMARY:
The Loan Operations Servicing Specialist I is responsible for performing routine loan servicing and account maintenance activities throughout the life of the loan. This position supports accurate loan account administration, responds to internal and customer servicing requests, and verifies servicing activities are completed in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. The Loan Operations Servicing Specialist I reports to the Loan Operations Manager and provides excellent service and support to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company's values and supporting the mission.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process routine loan servicing transactions including payments, payoffs, maintenance changes, and general account updates
  • Perform loan account maintenance such as borrower updates, rate changes, maturity extensions, and loan officer reassignments in accordance with established procedures
  • Review loan accounts for accuracy and assist with resolving basic servicing discrepancies
  • Respond to internal and customer inquiries related to loan servicing in a timely and professional manner
  • Verify loan payments are posted accurately and timely to the core system
  • Research and correct basic payment posting errors following documented procedures
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior specialists or management as appropriate
  • Monitor and track required insurance documentation for loan collateral, including hazard and flood insurance
  • Update insurance information within loan systems and follow up on missing or expired coverage
  • Assist with coordination of force-placed insurance through third-party vendors when required
  • Support basic escrow maintenance and servicing functions
  • Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements applicable to loan servicing
  • Maintain accurate documentation and verify servicing records are properly imaged and indexed.
  • Assist with audits, system reviews, and quality control efforts as assigned
  • Collaborate with lending, documentation, review, and accounting teams to resolve servicing-related issues
  • Cross train with members of Loan Operations to develop additional knowledge and skills
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, and reviewing professional publications
  • Attend training as requested
  • Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program
  • Participate in outside community activities as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred
  • 1 year of experience in banking, loan operations, or loan documentation preparation preferred
  • Basic understanding of loan servicing concepts preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard software applications
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
