Position Overview

Through Athene, our retirement services business, we provide innovative capital and retirement solutions to institutions and individuals worldwide.

Apollo Insurance Solutions Group ("ISG") is seeking an Associate to join its Middle Office Operations team in El Segundo. This role is integral to supporting trade lifecycle management, investment funding, collateral management, and portfolio operations across ISG's insurance investment portfolios.

The Associate will work closely with front office, investment accounting, technology, custodians, and external counterparties to ensure accurate execution, strong controls, and timely resolution of operational matters. This position offers meaningful exposure to a broad range of asset classes and the opportunity to contribute to process enhancements within a growing, high-performing platform.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support end-to-end trade lifecycle management across fixed income, structured products, alternatives, repurchase agreements, bank loans, CLOs, equities, and primary market transactions

  • Monitor trade settlement activity and proactively resolve discrepancies with brokers, custodians, front office, and internal stakeholders

  • Execute and review investment funding and wire processing transactions in accordance with ISG policies and regulatory requirements

  • Perform daily holdings and cash reconciliations between custodians and internal investment accounting systems; investigate and resolve breaks in partnership with Accounting

  • Manage collateral processing activities, including margin calls, substitutions, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Assist with portfolio rebalancing support, account onboarding, and asset setup within internal systems

  • Execute and document SOC-1 and SOX control procedures; support internal and external audit requests

  • Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational scalability efforts in partnership with Technology and senior team members

  • Maintain accurate runbooks and procedural documentation to support a controlled and repeatable operating environment

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, or related discipline preferred, or equivalent experience

  • 3-6+ years of experience in investment management, asset management, or insurance asset management operations

  • Experience supporting Middle Office or Back Office functions across multiple asset classes

  • Familiarity with physical settlements, repurchase agreements, bank loans, CLOs, and primary market transactions

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated attention to detail

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

  • Proficiency with systems and tools such as Bloomberg, Excel (advanced functions), CTM, DTCC Alert, SWIFT, VBA, or SQL

  • Exposure to collateral management processes and alternative investment operations

  • Experience incorporating technology and AI to improve workflow automation or data integrity initiatives

Pay Range

115,000 - 130,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above.
