Job description

This position will perform shipping operation duties to ensure a quality product is packaged, prepared, and loaded for delivery to customers in a safe manner.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately count and record products by category.

• Enter inventory results into Excel and the inventory database.

• Identify and flag any non-conforming product (code, label, short fill, missing carton, leakier, etc.).

• Assign orders to other shipping associates from load-out sheets.

• Review available products by code date both visibly and in electronic inventory to ensure proper product rotation.

• Ensure all product is assembled in the staging area for loading.

• Direct movement of trailers throughout the load-out period.

• Prepare paperwork for the oncoming shift.

• Complete all required documentation and schedule product checks.

• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.

• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.

• Follow all safety and security policies and procedures.

• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Follow all food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer, and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) requirements.

• All other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum age: 18 • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical.

• Strong Microsoft Office skills (focus on Excel) preferred.

• Refrigerated warehouse and shipping experience.

• Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data.

• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

• Forklift and/or pallet jack certification as provided by the company.

Physical Demand/Working Conditions:

• May be required to lift, carry, and lower items 50 pounds from a height of approximately seven feet to the ground and back continually for the duration of the shift.

• Must be able to work in both very hot (more than 100 degrees) and very cold (less than 20 degrees

• below zero) and in a very wet and humid environment for extended periods of time.

Exposed to noise/vibration, and chemicals.

• Required to Stand, walk, climb, bend, twist, push and pull, and reach above and below the shoulder.

• Repetition-Hand/Wrist Simple Grasping, Firm grasping.
