Job description

Brown Distributing Company is a leading beverage distributor throughout the state of Virginia. Since 1919, Brown Distributing has grown into a beverage distribution business with combined sales of over 3 million cases annually and serving in excess of 3,000 retailers with nearly 200 employees. We are seeking a career-minded Warehouse Associate to join our 2nd Shift and support the Operations Team in Richmond, VA!

Current Seasonal Schedule (~ March - November):

Sunday: 8AM until work is complete

Monday- Thursday:12:30PM until work is complete

Winter Schedule:

Monday- Friday:12:30PM until work is complete

Average is 40-50 hours per week.

Compensation:

$20.00/hour + PFP Potential (Pay for Performance): $400.00/month bonus = up to $22.31/hour

Responsibilities: Responsible for transporting pallets between picking area to the loading dock, operating wrap machines to shrink wrap pallets, and staging pallets for loading in a fast-paced environment.

  • Operate an electric pallet jack to safely and efficiently move pallets from the controlled environment warehouse area onto the loading dock.
  • Loads pallets onto pallet wrap machine(s) and oversees the wrapping process.
  • Ensure correct pallet license plate sticker is affixed to the pallet.
  • Offloads pallets from wrap machine(s) and stages pallets in designated areas.
  • General cleaning and assigned equipment maintenance.
  • Crosstrain in other areas to provide assistance as needed.
  • Perform other general warehouse functions as required by management.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Interacts with employees in a safe and productive manner.
  • No cell phones allowed during work hours. Cell phone use is limited to break or lunch time and cannot be used on the loading dock or in the pit area. NO CELL PHONES allowed at any time on equipment (including pallet jacks or forklifts).
  • No horseplay on any equipment.
  • Maintain a safe speed on any equipment and watch for co-workers.
  • Steel toe shoes are MANDATORY.
  • Smoking only permitted in designated areas.

All final applicants will be required to comply and pass all drug, background, and driving checks.
