Position Summary:
Responsible for day-to-day administration of benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, flexible spending and 401(k).
Administers the company's paid time off programs and leave of absence to meet established guidelines and regulations under the Family Medical Leave Act and administers the Americans with Disabilities Act
Essential Job Functions:
  • Key contributor in developing, implementing, and servicing all aspects of the company's benefit programs. Provides front line customer service and support for benefits function.
  • Reconciles all monthly invoices for benefit plans to ensure accuracy between vendors invoices, internal records, and payroll deductions; investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Performs research and data compilation for benefit surveys and reports.
  • Assists with annual open enrollment for health and welfare plans, communication, planning and vendor implementation.
  • Maintains plan documents such as SPDs, SMMs and SARs and develops and maintains administrative procedures. Coordinates and publishes benefits information on the company's intranet site.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA).
  • Partner with payroll to ensure accurate benefits deductions and reporting.
  • Assists managers and employees with information regarding eligibility for leave process, including personal and FMLA leave, STD and ADA process, guides employees through the application process. Reviews LOA/FMLA/ADA requests and makes recommendations to HR Manager and Director regarding approving/denying requests according to Company policy and property precedent.
  • Maintains communication regarding expirations, late premium notices, LOA/FMLA/ADA and Workers Comp.
  • Tracks LOA/FMLA/ADA's and Workers Comp; monitoring leave timelines and return to work statuses.
  • Upon receipt of term information, compute insurance payment due for all separating employees, transfers, and those on Leave.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (master's preferred)
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP / PHR / SPH preferred
  • 5+ years of Human Resources. Strong knowledge of health and welfare plans, FMLA, ADA, LOA, HIPPA, ERISA, and payroll processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, MS Office (especially Excel) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Strong customer service, organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Employee and Manager coaching
