The Sapphire Facility Technician (CNG/LNG Operations) is a key support role responsible for maintaining the day-to-day functionality, cleanliness, and organization of the shop and yard. This role directly supports field technicians by preparing equipment, maintaining inventory, assisting with repairs, and ensuring that all LNG & CNG components meet operational and safety standards. Hands-on, safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn within a fast-paced natural gas operations environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Equipment Handling & Preparation

  • Load & unload equipment, tools, and materials for field operations, including hoses, pressure vessels, vaporizers, PRVs, and manifolds.
  • Prepare, stage, and tag LNG and CNG equipment according to job-specific needs and SOPs.
  • Conduct pre-deployment checks of basic components for cleanliness, damage, and readiness.

Cleaning, Inspection & Maintenance

  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment returning from the field.
  • Assist with pressure washing skids, wiping down control panels, inspecting gaskets & O-rings, and lubricating mechanical components as directed.
  • Flag damaged, worn, or out-of-service equipment & communicate to supervisors or technicians.

Inventory & Materials Management

  • Maintain a well-organized inventory of consumables, tools, and spare parts.
  • Prepare toolkits, loadouts, and job boxes based on the supervisor's request.

Shop & Yard Organization

  • Keep work areas clean, safe, and in compliance with all company and regulatory safety standards.
  • Dispose of trash, scrap material, and hazardous waste appropriately.
  • Organize cables, fittings, PPE, and gas-related equipment in designated locations.

Operational Support

  • Support DOT, PHMSA, and NFPA 59A compliance by assisting with labeling, logging, and documentation of regulated equipment.
  • Help ensure that emergency gear and fire suppression systems are stocked and accessible.

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years in an Industrial, Oil & Gas, CNG/LNG, Mechanical, or Warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of the LNG & CNG process flow & operations preferred.
  • Must acquire TRRC Certification for LNG/CNG.
  • Valid US Driver's License & three years clean driving record to operate vehicles safely.
  • The following certifications are highly preferred:
    • Forklift Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
    • HAZMAT Awareness or OSHA 10 preferred.
    • Class A CDL preferred.
  • Word, Excel, e-mail and mobile apps experience. UpKeep app experience preferred.
  • Mechanically and technically inclined skills.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, pneumatic fittings, and pressure-rated equipment.
  • Must be able to work effectively as part of a team.

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, work on feet for extended periods, and tolerate hot/cold outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to certify and wear personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hard hats, gloves, protective footwear, and earplugs, as needed.
  • Exposure to industrial noise, heavy equipment, and compressed gas systems.
  • Having the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, reach, climb stairs and ladders.
  • Able to exert routine physical effort regularly.
  • Able to safely operate a motor vehicle and enter and exit a vehicle unassisted.
