POSITION SUMMARY
St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, FL, is seeking applications from qualified individuals to lecture courses in management information systems and data analytics for our on-ground programs. The candidate must display evidence of teaching excellence, a commitment to undergraduate education, and ability to work with diverse populations.

We are a designated Hispanic Serving Institution and the only Catholic Archdiocesan sponsored university in the State of Florida.
Specific job duties:
  1. Plan and/or implement curriculum for course(s) that are assigned.
  2. Ensure effective communication of course content to students in an online or in-person environment, ensure student satisfaction, and maintain university standards.
  3. Effectively manage course content on the university's learning management system - LMS - (for e.g., Canvas)
  4. Maintain course records that students can access 24/7 through LMS platforms and actively communicate with them through the LMS.
  5. Effectively assess students' performance and progress in achieving course learning outcomes and objectives.
  6. Ensure student engagement in classes to assist in student retention efforts.
  7. Prepare, instruct, and grade course work based on course learning outcomes; return all graded assignments in a timely manner and provide effective feedback to students on the assignments.
  8. Accurately maintain attendance records for each class session; ensure timely submission of mid-term and final grades.
  9. Adhere to university academic and employment policies identified in the adjunct faculty handbook.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director or College Dean.

Qualifications:
PhD. or Master's degree in Information Systems.
Skills: Proficient in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Office suite.
Experience in guiding students to use application software tools including Power BI, R Studio, Excel, or SQL.
Experience:
  • Higher education teaching: Minimum 1 year (Preferred).
