The Federal Systems Technology department of the USFGMD is responsible for service supporting a charter of implementing and integrating complex systems sold worldwide to the US Federal Government. As a USFGMD Onsite LMR Technical System Manager, you will be exposed to a wide variety of communications requirements in both the Presale and Post Sale phases of a project. These applications span the entire breadth of the US Federal Government throughout the world.
Job Description

Seeking a self-motivated, highly skilled On-Site LMR Technical System Manager to oversee and maintain our customer's state-of-the-art Astro 25 Trunking Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system. Working directly at the customer's facility in Brunswick, GA, you will act as the primary technical point of contact, operating with indirect supervision to ensure optimal system performance, seamless subscriber management, and exceptional customer satisfaction.

  • System Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform daily maintenance of critical infrastructure. Troubleshoot and repair equipment in a timely manner to minimize downtime.

  • Radio Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of subscriber units, including programming, testing, issuing, and basic troubleshooting for mobile and portable radios.

  • Subscriber Programming: Program APX, XTS, and XTL series subscribers utilizing Motorola Customer Programming Software (CPS) and Radio Management.

  • Customer Support & Training: Provide technical training and clear recommendations on Motorola LMR products to end-users and stakeholders.

  • Cross-Functional Communication: Effectively verbalize and communicate complex technical concepts, designs, and recommendations both to the customer and within the Motorola organization.

  • Network & Security Administration: Manage network infrastructure leveraging strong LAN/WAN skills, Information Assurance systems, and Domain Administration protocols.

  • Deep expertise with Motorola subscriber products and a thorough understanding of Motorola RSS/CPS software to program subscribers and infrastructure.

  • Strong networking skills (LAN/WAN) and experience in a network administration capacity.

  • Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Technical Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience working with Motorola Infrastructure Technologies, including Astro25 cores, the MCC Console line, Radio Management, and third-party networking equipment.

Certifications & Compliance:

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+ certification.

  • Must have a current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no traffic violations).

Clearance & Eligibility:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary background and security clearance levels required by the U.S. Federal Government Contracting Office.

  • Requirement to successfully complete a Standard Form 86 (SF-86) Questionnaire for National Security Positions.

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required (employer work permit sponsorship is not available).

Location Constraints:

  • Candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a location within a 1-hour commute of the customer site in Brunswick, GA.

  • Must be willing to travel by air up 10% of the time to Maryland and/or New Mexico.

Target Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.


Basic Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree OR 4+ years of experience in one of the following: LMR, RF Systems, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency, Motorola equipment, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering, Networking Equipment, IP Networking, Solutions Architecture, ASTRO 25, P25, WAVE VoIP, or Military experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain background clearance as required by a US government customer.
  • Must be able to complete a Standard Form 89 Questionnaire for National Security purposes
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
