MUSC Health's Catawba Division delivers high-quality, community-centered care across three key facilities in Lancaster, Chester and Indian Land, SC. Together, these sites ensure comprehensive emergency and inpatient services are available across one of the state's fastest-growing regions.
  • MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center (LMC): 211-bed hospital with 24-bed ED offering comprehensive inpatient and specialty services in Lancaster, SC. The hospital is a Joint Commission-designated Primary Stroke Center, and its Emergency Department is recognized by SC-DPH as a "Pediatric Ready" hospital.
  • MUSC Health Chester Medical Center (CMC): 82-bed acute care hospital with 13-bed ED delivering emergency services and comprehensive clinical care to patients in Chester County. CMC's Emergency Department is recognized by SC-DPH as a "Pediatric Ready" hospital
  • MUSC Health Indian Land Medical Center: 52-bed hospital with an anticipated 24 bed ED currently under construction in Indian Land, SC and set to open late 2027

Required Qualifications:
  • MD/DO with board certification in Emergency Medicine
  • Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of South Carolina
  • Strong communication, organization and teamwork skills

Position Highlights:
  • EPIC EMR with DAX AI scribe available
  • Equitable distribution of 10-hour and 12-hour physician shifts with physician-led scheduling
  • LMC ED and CMC ED supplemented with daily APP coverage.
  • ~1.8 - 2.0 pph
  • Annual LMC ED Volume: 32,000 with admission rate of 18%
  • Annual CMC ED Volume: 15,000 with admission rate of 7%
  • Complement of well-supported specialties to include Anesthesia, OB/Gyn, General Surgery, Urology, GI, Orthopedics, ENT, Tele-Neurology, Tele-Psychiatry
  • Excellent Integrated Hospital-Based Team to include Hospitalists and Intensivists
  • Dedicated Nocturnists
  • Opportunity to work with IM and FM Residents
  • Dedicated Air Transport based at Lancaster Medical Center
