Position Summary
The Associate Tax Consultant supports the Transaction Tax team by assisting in overpayment/audit reviews, tax research, and other consulting projects. This entry-level role is designed to build foundational tax knowledge and analytical skills through hands-on experience with data, documentation, and client interaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing transaction tax reviews, including data analysis and tax research.
  • Locate, examine, and retrieve vendor invoices and supporting documentation.
  • Perform reconciliations and taxability coding of invoices.
  • Create and modify spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
  • Draft written responses to tax questions and issues.
  • Contact vendors and taxing authorities for refund follow-up and information requests.
  • Support the creation of client reports and refund claims.
  • Travel to client locations to gather information and tour facilities (approx. 5%).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 0-1 years of professional experience, preferably in accounting or tax.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with professionals at all levels.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work Schedule: Regular, 40 hours/week
  • Travel: Less than 10%
  • Physical Activity:
    • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
    • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and sounds
    • Frequent repetitive motions with hands
